Kittens can growl or hiss at almost anything, my cat growled at the wind when she was tiny. They tend to get possessive over toys especially, which is also normal behaviour as long as it doesn’t go too far. It's normal!

Our kitten eventually shared this toy with the other cat, but he still growls with it sometimes if he's feeling possessive. The other kitty loves rubber bands and growls at his brother when he feels like hogging it.
