I picked up a "generic Mauser front sight" from Brownell's, installed it and shortened it a bit at a time until I got to a 50-yard regulation. I plan this rifle as a close distance deer rifle in heavy, dense cover.

2010年8月3日 · The prices of Carcano's have literally skyrocketed in the past 5-6 years. For a considerable time I do believe they were probably the least expensive milsurp rifle there was. I have 2 of'em and didn't get those until way late in my milsurp mania period. This is a 'Post Capitulation' Terni built M91 Moschetto Truppi Speciale in 6.5x52.

2016年5月1日 · I found a swing away mount and adapted it to fit the carcano. Works great. I only have to swing it away to load the en bloc clips. The bolt functions fine with scope down. The scope is Nikon 3-9x40 BDC. Correction..the gun is a M41 made in 42 (1942).

The sights are terrible, they are set up for shooting people-sized targets between 100 and 400 meters, and finding load data is a pain. I finally found some in Lee's modern reloading the second edition.

2014年1月29日 · on my $50 beat all to heck carcano "blubbered" rifle the front sight was filed down ( I believe!) and a small piece of brass was soldered on and flattened down/ filed . I haven't messed with the sight , couldn't make it any uglier if I tried but it shoots on at 75 yds. A lot of fun over the years for 50 bucks.. Attachment 94924

2013年3月10日 · That would be a 6.5x52mm Mannlicher Carcano rifle used by the Italians in WWII. It is actually .268", so 6.5mm bullets usually do not shoot well. Split bridge makes it tough to mount a scope. Is it sporterized or is it still original? They can shoot pretty well, are not real popular, and ammo, brass, bullets, etc. are available.
