2019年8月31日 · I have had 4 bone marrow biopsies in the last 5 years. I have been given either propofol or versed along with fentanyl. With propofol I didn't have any pain at all with the versed and fentanyl I did feel some pressure but no real pain.

2019年8月31日 · I had a one marrow biopsy and aspiration two days ago. I was fully awake but was given some “light” sedation. Didn’t feel a thing. The procedure was over and done with super fast. No soreness at all afterwards.

All of these were completed in my oncologist's office with no prior warning that I was going to have such things With easch one, all I had was localized freezing around the chosen site. The longest each one of these took was about 30 minutes.

2019年1月5日 · Yes and no: Any biopsy will be painful but in the hands of an experienced doctor and proper sedation (local novocaine) it can be a much more tolerable process. Pain killers such as tylenol (acetaminophen) afterwards for 24-58 hours can be a help too.

I’ve had 13 bone marrow biopsies and can only remember one keeping me up at night from discomfort but that was mostly because there was extra padding tucked under the bandage to prevent bleeding. Even though I didn’t sleep on my back, it still radiated pain in my entire backside from the pressure.

The bone marrow biopsy will also determine any scarring in the bone marrow that might go along with the ET and related diseases. My bone marrow took 10 minutes and felt about like a bee sting.

2019年8月31日 · Having been misdiagnosed originally, the bone marrow exam revealed an accurate diagnosis. Multiple tests were sent off but the diagnosis came from the pathologist’s microscopic analysis. The other tests were more for staging my myelofibrosis. Luckily for me, my only mutation was of JAK2 which was confirmed with the bone marrow.
