2019年5月28日 · Google Translate mostly messes up in translation of text on websites such as Twitter or Facebook. But when I write a simple sentence and translate it into Arabic then Google Translate has done excellent job. Wrote about 2000 sentences on Quizlet that I study. Google Translate does need to fix the translation of texts on websites.

The nonsensical phrase was used to ensure little to no likelihood of the phrase and its translation being in the original dataset. The same text in google translate provided translation that is more awkward.

DeepL vs Google Translate, which one is better on Japanese
Don't be fooled by DeepL's superior grammar structure. In practice, it's marginally better than Google TL at best and is very often much worse than Google. It assumes the context to such ridiculous degrees that you can get incredibly wrong sentences.

2020年10月5日 · Slightly unrelated, but you know how google translate can do it in real time through the camera? I first saw that functionality from an app called "World Lens" on ios. It was able to run well on an iPhone 2g and google ended up buying them and integrating them into google translate for the real time camera translation.

2022年7月3日 · Google Translate is doing some serious heavy lifting here and isn’t quite able to go into as much depth in conversation as we want to… for reference the person I’m talking to doesn’t speak much English beyond a few works and I don’t speak Thai beyond a few words, it’s even harder in a ‘live’ environment but the translator mostly gets it right with voice for simple stuff.
