The dealer is quoting about $54k with the options premium package, cold weather package, automatic transmission, comfort access, IPOD&USB adapter. Is this a decent price? I got the solenoids replaced and the the fault came back again. this time they exchanged the intake sensors with exhaust sensor to make sure if the sensors were faulty and still the same problem persists and on the exhaust side.

UNMANAGEABLE. •. It used to be much more manageable to put new engines/transmissions or rebuilds into high mileage vehicles. I think the days of these 500k multiple-owner vehicles are going to be coming to an end as the work needed to keep them on the road is getting more expensive than the price of them used.

Recently brought my 2013 bmw 528i (100k miles) into a local shop in Orange County, Southern California due to some mechanical issues. When the mechanic finished the initial inspection, there seems to be additional issues, most notably the engine timing chain. Apparently the timing chain is stretched and the guides are broken.

I learned that since the last battery wasn't registered and coded properly, the previous settings for an old BMW 110AH Lead Acid battery were being used for the newly installed AGM H8 95AH battery.

I think if you can buy a new BMW and ditch it around 80-100k you're going to think it was an awesome car and probably will buy another. If you are the person that owns it from 100k and beyond, your ownership experience will be different.
