Looked at a new Aveo sedan (2007), it's nice inside. But I wouldn't buy one after the Euroncap test. They also posted a test of the Aveo harchback recently - 3 stars, to the new sedan's 1.5 stars.

Wave, isn't your car the 150,000 + mile Aveo that was posted on here last year. If not I must be thinking of someone else who used their car for an auto parts store runabout. I used to put on quite a few miles up until last June -- about 1200 mi./week, but I did that for the last 15 years with other vehicles as well.

I replaced the original 185/60R14's on my 05 Aveo with A quality Goodyear 185/65R14 without any problems. It made a very slight difference on the speedo, but Aveo speedometers are notoriously off by up to 5-8 MPH anyway, as it comes from the factory.. Somewhere on the Aveo forums, there is a multi-posting discussion about this.

2005 Aveo - 2 bad Moonroofs, excessive front tire wear, car interior parts began coming loose at 25K miles...lots of rattles. 2007 BMW Z4- No problems. 2008 Nissan Altima. New car. The point here is that I have never had a GM automobile get 50K miles without a significant problem.

Apparently they must have the timing belt glitch worked out, or found that the 30K timing belt check is a waste of money. The 2007 manual require the 30 K check, but the 2008 manual does not. So the first service interval for the 2008 Aveo timing belt is 60K. Which means the belt is warranteed till 60K. Then it needs to be replaced.
