Thanks for the tip What if the cable (about to be purchased) is rated at 3.5GHz instead of 3GHz? Would it make any difference in picture quality or other features?

2006年9月19日 · RG-6 is a generic term, and is best interpreted as "sort of like". The "slash" number is a type designation, and that suffix came from the original, now obsolete, military "slash sheets".

2007年8月28日 · As for the cable being tested/certified, in a Seattle office building, at 19 stories up from the demarc I had the phone company put in shielded twisted pair for a WAN connection. It tested fine for the data wires, but wouldn't work reliably. We replaced the cable, and upon testing it, we found 3' sections every 20 feet or so missing the shield.

If I have 3 coaxial couplers on an rg6 wire, that runs in total about 75 feet, will the coaxial couplers reduce the signal and not let me watch channels from my fta dish? I can not run one continuous wire, the only thing i can do is have 3 long rg6 cables connected with couplers.

2015年10月1日 · It comes down to the quality and type of cable and connectors. If your coax is a good quality RG6 or the better grade RG11, distances of several hundred feet are possible without noticeable loss. I have installed fixed dishes with 300' of quad shield RG6 with little loss.

2019年6月28日 · I am trying to get some ethernet connections in a couple of rooms of a condominium. I have tried to use ethernet over powerline adapters but have had limited success getting them to work; I suspect that power outlets are on different circuits. I have read that you can buy coaxial cable adapters and run ethernet over the coaxial cable.
