The Green Line 722 route from Dartford, though the Tunnel and up the A13 to Aldgate was equally fruitless. Then there was the peculiar Tunnel cycle bus run by LT (on behalf of the Dartford Tunnel Joint Committee) which patiently awaited the squadrons of cyclists who mysteriously never materialised.

The Dartford–Thurrock River Crossing, commonly known as the Dartford Crossing and until 1991 the Dartford Tunnel, is a major road crossing of the River Thames in England, carrying the A282 road between Dartford in Kent in the south and Thurrock in Essex in the north.

2006年6月3日 · Route 722 ran from Aldgate via Mile End, Bow, Stratford, Forest Gate, Manor Park, Ilford, Becontree Heath, Romford, Hornchurch and Upminster to Corbets Tey. The 722A route was planned to run from Aldgate via the 722 to Romford, from where it would have continued to North Romford (Chase Cross).

But GreenLine 722 did not prosper, and neither did RT-operated route 300. A GS was allocated to Grays to operate through the tunnel just between Grays and Dartford. This too did not prosper, and was quickly withdrawn.

2021年10月17日 · The RT operated 722 (Aldgate – Ilford – Upminster, Corbets Tey) was extended from Corbets Tey to Dartford in 1963 when the Dartford tunnel opened so that would have enabled you to complete your tour by bus.
