Beyond, the Hong Kong-based rock band, was formed in the early 1980s by Wong Ka Kui and Yip Sai Wing, two young musicians interested in progressive rock, particularly Pink Floyd's music. The band later joined a music contest for Guitar magazine and added lead guitarist William Tang and bassist Lee Wing Chiu to form the band.
