Next best cardboard knife is a Dexter Russel net knife. The thin serated blade will cut miles of cardboard before it needs to be sharpened. Then it just needs to have the back rubbed flat on a stone.

2005年11月12日 · That knife is the best cardboard cutter I have now; a completely different animal from the original 'factory' edge. That blade was 440C, by the way. I've also noticed similar results with another Buck 112 in 425M, also convexed in a similar fashion.

2007年11月1日 · I find it depends on the knife, but for heavy cardboard, I generally prefer a good, sharp plain edge. If I have to saw a lot with a serrated blade in heavy cardboard, I tend to stick or bind up. And forget any serrations that are too long.

So even the cheapest of box cutters, with a new blade, will have an edge over almost any knife here. Cardboard is rather abrasive on an edge, and will dull it pretty quickly.

2017年8月7日 · Cardboard is horrible on edges, and the blades that shine on them are the ones that are so thin that the edge geometry continues to cut after the apex is dulled. Something like a SAK or box cutter will do well because of the thin blade stock. The adhesive that is used in cardboard is derived from starch from what I understand and is full of grit.

1999年4月27日 · A good blade design for cutting cardboard is a small pen knife blade like on a SAK or a stockman. Thicker tactical or hunting knives will give you much higher drag. A Mora knife might work well for whittling where the wood chips peel off the surface without being able to wedge or drag on the blade, but the blade will bind in thick cardboard.
