With the help of Tokugawa, the Prime Minister of Japan, and Tokugawa's sister they cloned Musashi out of some spinal fluid from his mummified remains. Tokugawa's sister then put Miyamoto Musashi's soul into the husk clone of himself, bringing him back to life.

Which leaves a lot of wiggle room for his real strength. A none serious Musashi dominated Baki, so a bloodlusted one might be way stronger than the demon back.
