The progress came as a result of China's intensified efforts to protect and restore its mangroves, which are evergreen trees or shrubs that grow in intertidal zones on tropical or subtropical coasts.

The boys are asleep when the broken down dinghy finally drifts in to the mangroves somewhere along the coast. The boys are lost and dehydrated, now they are on land, they set off to find water.
