A report suggests the limited-production off-road sports car will adopt the "T-Hybrid" system from the new 911 GTS.

There's a stereotype about the owners of limited-edition Porsche 911 models, one that's not entirely unfair: an person clad in head-to-toe Porsche-branded clothing, with a car that sits in the garage 99 days out of 100 in avoidance of rain, dirt or hard miles — or, really, any miles at all.

The new hybrid 911 Dakar will be based on a refreshed version of the current 992-series 911, and will likely be launched later this year, according to Autocar ‘s sources. The car will be another limited edition model, though just how many new 911 Dakars Porsche is planning was not revealed.
