Deer season opens one week from today, and according to archery hunters who have been hunting since late last month and the recent acorn drop, hunters should find good prospects.
BILLINGS – Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and the City of Roundup have scheduled an archery-only mule deer hunt in and around Roundup to reduce the number of urban deer.
Last year, 90 either-sex mule deer licenses were sold for the Roundup Mule Deer Management Hunt but only six deer — two bucks and four does — were harvested.
