Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to your computer. Since both ends are the same, it doesn’t matter which end you choose. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your router.

Whenever you see a box with a few Ethernet ports ... be careful shoving passive PoE-powered cables into places – it can burn out a port on your laptop or Pi, if you’re not careful.
