Reilly was a mother of five and her oldest son, Matthew Reilly II, gave a eulogy. Speaking to the hundreds of people seated in the church, he said many there could tell stories about Officer Reilly and others could tell stories about Felicia, but he was going to tell them about “mom.”

The community will gather on Monday to honor the life of Felicia Reilly, a St. Paul police officer who died nearly 15 years after sustaining injuries in the line of duty.

St. Paul Police Officer Felicia Reilly died from injuries sustained in the line of duty in 2010. Reilly was attacked while responding to a 911 hang-up call in March 2010. She was repeatedly kicked and assaulted by the suspect,

Reilly died last weekend at the age of 67 — 15 years after suffering a traumatic brain injury when she was attacked while on duty. Reilly’s family said her death was due to injuries stemming from that assault.
