There are two main types of organisational structure used in businesses – hierarchical (or tall) and flat. A flat structure is an organisational structure with only a few layers of management.

Able to traverse a website by its hierarchical structure. Also called "Web navigation," the menus replicate the site's structure and allow the user to go down multiple levels to select a page.
