Missouri will be holding its annual statewide tornado drill Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. Here's what to know and what to do during a tornado or severe weather event in Missouri.

Mecklenburg County does not use tornado sirens, because it relies on more advanced methods to warn residents about potential tornadoes, Mecklenburg County Emergency Management said. Instead, the county uses Wireless Emergency Alerts and the Emergency Alert System.

The drill is part of the state's participation in Severe Weather Preparedness Week 2025, Missouri Storm Aware said.
