A fugitive wanted in New York was taken into custody Monday after a tense SWAT standoff in a Hollywood neighborhood that prompted lockdowns at four nearby schools, authorities said.

The APD SWAT Team, Police Area Representatives and detectives with the General Investigations Section assisted the North Metro Task Force. Police said the operation began at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
