Maybe you opened the System Restore panel, rstrui.exe, with the intention of restoring your Windows computer back to a restore point and you found that the system restore points were deleted!

To restore missing desktop icons ... “Desktop icon settings” to select the icons you want to display. If your desktop shortcut icons are hidden, they might not be visible.
