While Pakistan had earlier threatened of a boycott should their hosting rights be taken away on a whole, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday said that cricket should be the ultimate winner.

It is understood that most of the ICC board members were sympathetic towards Pakistan's situation, but PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi was, nonetheless, advised to accept the 'Hybrid' model as the only "plausible solution" for the current imbroglio.

The ICC Board held a brief virtual meeting to discuss the 2025 Champions Trophy amid India's decision not to travel to Pakistan. They are considering either a hybrid model with India's matches at a neutral venue or moving the entire tournament out of Pakistan.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, if a situation arises wherein the PCB refuse to accept the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy entirely, then the tournament will be taken out of Pakistan entirely.

According to the latest reports, PCB is set to accept the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy or risk losing the entire hosting rights of the tournament. ICC has given PCB until Saturday to decide on their latest stance with them mostly likely to agree on the hybrid model.

No consensus was reached between the parties in a brief meeting of the ICC Board on Friday. Pakistan remained firm on its stance to not host the tournament in a hybrid model.
