Microsoft is rolling out a new update to Phone Link for Windows Insiders, bringing file transfer support when using an iPhone.

Once you’re set-up, sharing a file from your iPhone to your PC is as simple as navigating to the file, tapping the share icon, and selecting “Link to Windows.” To send a file from your PC to your iPhone, select the file, right-click, and choose “Share” > “My Phone.”

You'll no longer need a third-party app to send files easily between your Microsoft computer and Apple device.

In its blog post, Microsoft stated that it has begun rolling out the ability to share files between iPhones and Windows 11 or Windows 10 PCs when they are connected via the Phone Link app and the Link to Windows app.

This beta feature notifies PC users when they receive a file with a small notification at the corner of their screen.

Sharing files between an iPhone and a Mac is super easy, barely an inconvenience. Android and Chrome have a similarly cushy relationship over on the Google side of things. But Windows doesn’t really have a steady date in the smartphone world anymore ever since Microsoft basically abandoned the segment.

Microsoft is reportedly working on an update for its Phone Link app, trying to ensure transfer of files between the Windows PC and the iPhone is easier.
