GM announced today that it will be making its OnStar Turn-by-Turn navigation system standard on a number of 2007 models and that the first year of service will be free.

Our colleagues over at Engadget have learned that GM will be the first customer for the new technology. The General has plans to use the display for navigation systems in its Vectra Caravan model.
