Haines’ American Bald Eagle Foundation joined zoos throughout the country offering an unorthodox Valentine’s Day tradition of naming a critter after an ex and watching it be devoured.

Rodenticides were found in its system. The owl’s death was the latest raptor to die from eating rat poison. The first bald eagle to nest in Arlington in 50 years, MK, died from rodenticides in 2023.
