Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Sunday called the Maharashtra unit of Samajwadi Party the "B team" of the BJP, his remark coming a day after the Akhilesh Yadav-led party said it would quit MVA over a social media post by Uddhav Thackeray's aide hailing the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray asserted that the Samajwadi Party's Maharashtra unit was behaving like "BJP's B-team" and said his party was rooted in its Hindutva ideology by taking everyone along.

This announcement follows the 32nd anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya, which took place on 6, 1992.

SP’s Maharashtra unit chief Abu Azmi had hit out at the Shiv Sena (UBT) over a newspaper advertisement and MLC Milind Narvekar’s X post connected to the demolition.

Aaditya Thackeray’s remark comes after Abu Azmi says his party has quit Maha Vikas Aghadi citing an X post hailing Babri Masjid demolition uploaded by an MLC close to Uddhav Thackeray.

While speaking on reports of Samajwadi Party quitting MVA in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray said that the Samajwadi Party in Maharashtra sometimes behaves like the B team of BJP.

A day after Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Abu Azmi said his party would exit the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, Shiv Sena (UBT) legislator Aaditya Thackeray said he sometimes behaved like "BJP's B Team".
