Not sure what to make of this one. The original house has been gutted on the inside to make way for a small modern museum exhibit. Outside is a modern garden. Didn’t think there was much to learn or … Wikumj的完整评论

I’ve rated this 2 out of 5 stars, mainly because we were in and out within 20 minutes. Not for me or my wife. Arrived at 2pm and loved the metal sculptures and peaceful top garden. We stayed there … S4268ANandrewp的完整评论

Hi Huffers57, the house you mention that was there on your last visit, rest assured is still very much there! It was built in 1530, extended in the early 17thC and added to further in the 19thC. Known as 'Nash's House' Thomas Nash married WS's last living relative, Elisabeth Hall (granddaughter) and briefly owned it. Prior to 2010, New Place Gardens were open to the public during the day but were closed when the first major archaeological excavations started. When NP reopened local residents were given free entry to the gardens, the site of New Place (where WS's family home stood and its subsequent rebuilt finally demolished in 1759 and the exhibition housed in Nash's House. Hope this helps.
We recommend pre-booking to avoid disappointment. We offer timed entry to Shakespeare's Birthplace and these slots take priority on admission. You can book online in advance here...
