This intimate theatre has a small museum downstairs for viewing prior to a show. It’s rich in history and fascinating. There’s also a neat little gift shop. The theatre itself is elegant and beautifu… Princes5xo的完整评论

It’s hard to believe that I had never visited this piece of American history in all of my visits to DC. The museum does an incredible job telling the story of what the US was like leading up to and d… DHWDetroit的完整评论

Informative and as in depth as you want it to be as a self guided tour. Gives great insight into Lincoln and his amazing mind. There is a park ranger on site if you have questions. OnTheMoveMN的完整评论
Online checkout for tickets says by clicking I agree to abide by covid protocol, including a negative test or proof of vaccination. Anyone been there recently to know whether they're requiring a negative test or proof of vaccination??
答:
I had been there in December 2022 and no one checked for Covid or asked to see certificates. I don't think they will ask you. They just didn't update their site.
How much time should we budget for our visit (September 2021)? We have a historic site ticket for both the museum and the theater walk through.

It depends on who you are and how slowly you move through museums. We move slowly; we were in the museum for about 90 minutes before we were told it was closing for lunch in a few minutes. We would have preferred 2 - 3 hours. But then, we read everything! If you pick and choose what to read, it shouldn't take more than 90 minutes. This museum is really more of a reading museum - they have artifacts and games to play, but they're really centered around reading. They also have a few movies that are really worth watching.
For the show performances that start at 7:30pm (we're going to see guys and dolls), how long do they last? About 2 hours? Trying to figure out dinner plans...don't mind eating late, but will also consider earlier depending on our other activities schedule. Thanks.

I've seen Guys and Dolls many times (not at Ford's Theater, but at different theaters around the country), and I would expect it to run longer than 2 hours. Probably more like two and a half, and maybe a little longer, depending on whether they begin on time, how long intermission lasts, etc. We always eat after shows, and there are some great options in D.C. for late-night dining after a show. The Hamilton and Old Ebbitt Grill are good options, both with late night menus (more limited than their regular menus, but still a good selection), and both are relatively close to the theater. They are both casual, especially later at night, with things like burgers, sandwiches, etc, on their late night menus. You can look at their websites to see the options on their late night menus. If you want fine dining, though, you will probably need to eat before the show, as most fine dining establishments are not open late at night.
