Can we arrive pre-dusk and explore and then attend the opera? Would you say this rates in interest as the Colosseum? We may skip that due to crowds and the unavailability of skip the line tickets unless we pay a lot from a third party. Going in a week and a half for reference!

As for skip the line i do recommend the coloseum but try using the company GETYOURGUIDE. we have used then frequently. they have a varied choice of activities and they are reasonably price and skip the line is worth it. if you want to queue for 3 or more hours then visit on your own but that waiting time is reduced to 1 hour or less with skip the line so it really is worth it.
