You have to come to Nagercoil Junction; proceed to Vadaserry bus stand by an auto (Rs.130/-); get a bus to a place called 'Thuckalay' (20 - 30 mts drive); get an auto to Padmanabhapuram palace (just 2 KMs. Instead of this follow plan B 2. Plan B. From kanyakumari, there are buses to Trivandrum directly. Board the bus; Avail ticket to 'Thuckalay' (about 45 mts to 1 hr drive). Get down at Thuckalay and hire an auto (2 KMs only). This is very simple.
1. Below 6 yrs no ticket is necessary and for school going children concessional rate is there. But don't forget to carry Identity proof. 2. Public Transport is available. But if you can read Tamil language then it will be advantage for you. After leaving Bus, you'll have to go to that palace by other vehicle. 3. Restaurant is just outside the Palace campus near car stand. You can find there fruits also.
