Bookings of less than 6 days will be considered from opening in April to June 20th and again from August 20 to closing. The Cabin at West Cott allows guests to enjoy the lake and experience wilderness, while also exploring their energy use and how they impact the planet we live on. The cabin is not connected to any electrical supply company. It is a solar powered home, that can sufficiently provide electricity for the energy aware family. There are two diesel generators that provide backup, but ideally should rarely come on. How much they come on is determined by the guests energy consciousness. The Cabin at West Cott is on a quiet lake with good fishing and full access to the Winnipeg River. Whether it's a leisurely trip by water to Minaki, or kayaking through wild rice filled bays, adventure awaits. Wildlife can be seen from the dining table or dock. Eagles are a regular sight, travelling to and from their nests, feeding and training their young.
