We booked Lascaux 4 in early September, then accidentally went to Lascaux 2 (which is nearby) and it was closed for the season. That’s one of the differences - Lascaux 4 is open almost year-round, but check the website. It is worth popping up to Lascaux 2 just for the atmosphere, though. Even though it was closed, you could still walk up to it - it’s in the woods and you have a better idea of the original location. Lascaux 4 is a fantastic tour, but it’s inside a big modern building.

I'm not sure how many they have daily in March,you may find that out 0n-line. However,not all tours are in English...! We purchased our tickets at the museum and then walked across the road to a very decent little cafeteria,as the next English tour was at about 1.30. I was there in May and there were a few coach loads as well as individual tourists. March should not be quite as busy. The English guide was excellen!
