If you want the full on animal adventure would think you would need to spend a minimum of a couple of days on the mainland. Jozani Forest for the Colobus Monkeys and Sea Turtle Sanctuary is certainly worth 2 or 3 hours on Zanzibar. Good luck

Most of resorts and hotels are on beach front (latterly), the reef is close to Jambiani beach according to local people, I haven't reached the reef .I hope that I answerd your question.

A massage is always a relaxing thing to do approximately $20 USD. Very affordable to eat out. Unsure what water activity’s cost check with your resort.
