There are plenty of shops that rent motorbikes all around Chiang Mai and also most hotels will have motorbikes to rent

They are getting very strict in the Chiang Mai area. I always rent a motorbike there and have never had any problems. Last month I got stopped 4 times. My UK license covers me but …

They are getting very strict in the Chiang Mai area. I always rent a motorbike there and have never had any problems. Last month I got stopped 4 times. My UK license covers me but the police insisted I had an international licence. They fined me 500 baht but the paper covered me for 3 days. Best to be safe and get the international license. Apparently you apply in your own country and they are very cheap
