Crater lake trail takes around 3 hours in total, don't be fooled thinking it's a short hike! It's a good uphill to start followed by some pretty rocky traversing. We set off at 7.30am which was perfe… pinkali33的完整评论

If the Maroon Bells entrance is closed when you are there, you would not be able to do the hike. From the park rangers station, its a good 3 miles drive into the parking area for Maroon Bells. Then a 10 minute hike just to get to the start of the trail to Crater Lake. To hike Crater Lake takes approximately 3 - 3 1/2 hours to hike at a normal pace round trip.

It is a walking trail of about 3 miles going steadily up. You drive up the mountain to the parking lot and then start the walk. I cannot tell you how long it will take as deep snow on the trail forced us to turn back so we never got to the end. I believe Crater Lake is beautiful. The walk is popular with fitness people for a good workout, dog walkers and others including families who choose a more leisurely pace. Definitely a walking trail.
