Personally, I prefer being on an outside row for semi-privacy, and close to the beach for the breeze and short walk to the water. Also, keep in mind that a site facing the east will be cooler than west because the only shade provided here is by shelters over the picnic tables at the RV sites. The park's website has detailed maps, and photos of some of the sites to help you chose. Also, I sent a few questions using the email address provided, and had answers within a day. Trip Advisor doesn't allow hyperlinks, but you can find the website by searching for Texas Parks and Wildlife, where all state parks are listed. FYI, this park is very well maintained and was fully restored in recent years after being destroyed by Hurricanes Ike and Harvey.

I saw on separate sight that kayaks were available for no charge. You just needed to reserve the kayak in advance. However I looked the website for the state park and it said no kayaks available. I would like to know about renting/access to a kayak.
